Happy New Year !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The big fish are making there way to the spawning areas as the fullmoon

approaches the 11th of Jan.I fished with a good friend of mine today Hank G as

we were looking at some areas for guide trips next week.We headed North

of Lake Monroe on the St Johns River and found what we were looking for

on the first stop. These fish were in less then 18 inches of water on a big spawning

flat just off of the main river.A Soft Jerkbait and Texas Rigged Worn was all

we needed to catch and release over 20 fish weighing up to 8 1/2 pounds

with a best 5 weighing well over 20 pounds. The water in the area we fished

today was very dark and we could not see the beds but there was no question

these fish were on beds.I fished this same area a week ago and never had a

bite.If you are looking for the fishing trip of a lifetime the St Johns River is the place

to be as the spawn kicks into high gear over the next three months.
