Fall Pattern in full effect! The trout have made it all the way to the local Lafitte area, although there are still plenty of small fish, the throwbacks are all above 11inches, and the way they are gorging themselves on the shrimp, so it will be just a few days before they are all legal size, and the limits will begin to fill everyone's boxes.

The keys to catching these fish right now after this hard blow over the last several days is to fish the east side of all the area bays, with the clean high water, throwing the H&H glow beetles under a cork. The best method is to start about 40-50 yards from shore and begin your drift. When you get out of the bite, pick up, and quietly motor back and begin your drift again. Redfish aren't worried about the wind! Plenty of fish being caught with the high clean water in the back water marshes from Dupont to Lake Hermitage.

We have been catching the majority of our fish with dead, and live shrimp under a cork, working the points and outfall trenasses. We are also catching fish early with spinner baits trolling the interior marshes. Fish haven't been huge, but plenty in the 20-24 inch range. It was pointed out to us that since we have 3 years of fishing reports posted on our site, for fisherman curious on how fishing in the Lafitte area will be in 2 weeks or 2 months from now, read the reports from the previous years, and you can kind of anticipate what is going on and when.
