Got weathered out some this week..fished Wednesday and part of Thursday night with Joey Champagne, Jed Duffy, Lee and Clark Griswold - of the Shell Beach and Beau Chene Griswolds that is..anyway..we spent the entire day trolling a small grassline in hopes for the grander marlin..we would catch a 20 pound cow dolphin before coming across a floating crate loaded with tripletail..Lee and Scott L put on the spearfishing gear in order to collect dinner for the crew..just as we pulled lines up a small blue marlin came crashing in the bait collecting around the boat..go figure..

anyway, Scott was able to spear one 4# tripletail..spent the remainder of the day dodging wind and rain..made a halfhearted attempt for tuna just before dark striking out..got set up for 2 sword drifts getting one bite on each..fish 1 dropped the bait on strike one and hook pulled when we came tight on strike 2..headed in about 11pm, missing the storm of the century by an hour..Took all of Thursday off to rest up and came back with a vengeance Friday with Terry, Ronnie and Dan from Longview TX..spent the morning (or wasted the morning) looking for a tuna bite that wouldnt happen..too much traffic and no fish..about 1030am we put out a trolling spread and tried for a dolphin..still nothing working we picked up and would make a stab at the grouper and jacks..managed 10 scamps, 2 jacks and a decent snapper before deciding on tuna again..were lucky to find them cooperartive and we added 4 yellowfins to the box..3 on the spinning rod...

Hunter had Mark Salesman and crew from Houston and fared much better on the tuna putting 9 yellowfins and 2 blackfins in the boat throughout the course of the day..Cancelled Saturday and Sunday and gearing up for two consecutive overnight trips, although the weather looks shakey..Paradise Outfitters - 985-845-8006
