The fishing on the north end of Sabine Lake has been fantastic. We are catching limits by 10:30 on trout up to 7lbs. Live bait has been taking most of the fish with shad taking the majority of them. They are also hitting mullet and croaker as well. The best bite has been on an incoming tide. We are fishing the drop offs and the edge of the flats. The bigger fish have been on the drop offs in about 11 ft of water. The south end of the lake in the ship channel has also produced well. The water is green and clear. The best bite has been on an incoming also. The best bait has been glow/chart stanley wedge tail shrimp with a 3/8 jig fished over shell. The short rigs have produced when the wind allows. Purple/Chart have taken most of the fish.
