Almost There!

That is the feeling I get when I stop by the SeaVee factory to take a look at the new boat. The boat is coming along at a rather nice pace and should be completed by the end of the month. To say that we will be traveling in style will be an understatement. There are some more things also going on in the New Year. We will be launching a new and improved website in the upcoming weeks so stay tuned for that.

I would first like to thank my good friend Capt. Dave Kostyo. Capt. Dave has been my friend for a long time and has been helping me get thru this "boat less" time by offering me his boat to complete some charters. So a big thanks to Dave for all his help.

The charters that we have been able to get in have gone very well. I fished with Omar Marrero, Wayne Burns and Mario Hernandez on Mario's 34 SeaVee "Perfect Finish". And a "perfect Finish" it would turn out to be with the crew going 1/3 on swordfish. The fish we did get to the boat we were able to keep taping out just over 55". After some high fives we had a beautiful ride home on a clam ocean with the tunes cranked up and smiles all around.

My next charter was with Bob and his lovely wife Marissa. After catching bait at the bent range marker we headed out to the edge. A short time after we set up we had a mahi-mahi come up on the kite and inhale a herring. After we got that fish to the boat it would not be long until the action turned on again. 10 minutes later we see the front bow rod bend over and we were fast on to a large size sail that put on a show for forty five minutes. Unfortunately, Marissa got a little seasick and the trip was called early. We were left to wonder how the day would have turned out if we were able to continue fishing.

So there you have it not a lot of fishing going on my part due to being boat less until the end of November. But look for the normal 2 reports a month starting in December. For those of you wondering what to get that fisherman in you life how about a fishing trip! Let me take care of all the details for you. All you have to do is call and we can put together a day to remember for that special someone.

Until next time have a great Thanksgiving.

Capt. Gil Gutierrez
