Fishing Fort Lauderdale with Topshotfishing and Capt. Zsak

Daniel and Christal Trujillo, along with their friends, Shannon Johnston and her children, Brandy, Sabrina and Samantha all from New Mexico chartered the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea big game sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Winds were out of the east at 5 mph with blue skies and temperatures in the high 80's.

As the anglers boarded the boat, I questioned them on what type of fishing they were interested in cathching. They advised me that they wanted to catch eating fish. For the last couple of days there has been some Mahi Mahi action, so that was our target.

Fifteen minutes after leaving the dock, lines were in 120 ft. of water at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale, 1.8 miles from shore. We started off trolling with two plainers down and four surface baits. Our first couple of fish were some Bonitos followed by a Kingfish and some Barracudas.

From there we kept working off shore. About three miles offshore, we found a weed line and followed it. All the anglers took turns bringing in some Mahi Mahi's and a Tuna. Samantha reeled in the largest of the Mahi Mahi's weighing in at 13 lbs. The total catch of the charter were five Mahi Mahi's, one Kingfish, four Bonitos, two Barracudas and one Tuna.

With smiles on all their faces and an excellent catch, it was time to head back from our deep sea fishing charter to the Bahia Mar Dock, located at 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316. The anglers enjoyed the relaxing trip back to the dock in the a/c salon.
