Today we started out fishing with Mike, Tim, Rick, Jim, Rob and Jimbo all from South Florida.

As it turned out these guys are kind of in the same business as the Hooked Up. They run the Sawgrass Recreation Park out in the Everglades. While they don't have deep sea fishing they do have air boat rides, alligator sightseeing tours, all kind of animals that you can find in the Everglades.

You could say they are your one stop shop to explore the Florida Everglades and they are just a quick 30 min drive from Ft Lauderdale. So while you're making your plans of things to do while down here in South Florida I would highly recommend checking out our Florida Everglades at http://www.evergladestours.com or give them a call at (954) 389-0202 and tell them Taco sent you.

Ok back to the fishing today. We knew these guys were into some good eating fish so we started out trolling the reef catching king fish one after another. While the king fish are ok eating we knew that some dolphin fish was what they really had in mind for dinner. So having said that we worked our way off shore looking for these elusive dolphin fish. After a good 45 min of trolling finally a knock down and up came this dolphin jumping all over the place. While reeling him in up popped another dolphin and now we were connected with a double. Finally a couple of good eating fish in the box.

Within seconds of getting the baits back out there BAM another knock down followed but yet another double. This time they turned out to be a couple of BIG oceanic bonitos. While not so good to eat they do put up one hell of a fight.

We ended our trip with some kite fishing with our 2 kites flying behind the boat with 4 live baits suspended from them. All of a sudden we saw a splash by our left long kite bait. Line started creeping off the reel the rod bent over a sail fish came out of the water and we were Hooked Up.

Jimbo jumped at the rod and the fight was on. it was a back and forth tug a war for a good 15 min till jimbo finally got his sail fish to the side of the boat. We got a couple quick photos and watched him swam away in great shape.

Guys thanks again for a great time on the water.

As we pulled back to the dock we had our afternoon trip ready and eager to give their luck a shot at some deep sea fishing aboard the Hooked Up.

We had Ken, Wes, Malica, Evan and Broke all from Texas. We started out trolling the reef but at this point in the afternoon the kings had stopped biting so we worked our way off shore in search of some more dolphin fish.

We had found a nice green water to blue water edge and it looked very fishy. As we started working this edge BAM down went one of our rigger baits and we were once again Hooked Up. Evan got the rod and the fight was on. It turned out to be a nice dolphin fish.

Now I've got to say that with a well full of live baits and this edge looking as good as it did we could not resist bring in the trolling gear and setting out our kites.

As it turned out it was the right thing to do we ended up with 4 nice dolphins and one big sail fish that we had on for just a few seconds but he somehow managed to spit the Hook.

Thanks again to all of our anglers today it truly was one of those days that not only did everyone have a ball the crew on the Hooked Up had a blast hanging out and fishing with all of you.

Today we had a split party aboard the Hooked Up we had Michael and Brad from Santa Barbra California and George and Tom from Baltimore.

Today the water looked just about as good as it could with a hard north current and a good green to blue edge. We had so much current that we ran a good 5 miles to the south just so we would not be so far from our inlet by the time we got done fishing.

While the fishing was slower than we thought it was going to be we did manage to catch a monster bonito about 15 pounder and we also hooked 2 sail fish with Michael getting his to the side of the boat for a couple of quick photos and another one jumped off right after the hooked up.

Guys thanks again for fishing with us aboard the Hooked Up.
