Hello again from St. Lucie Sportfishing Charters. The day started with a steady bite of Gag groupers. Most were short in size but big on stealing your bait and snagging you in to their hole if your not qiuck on the hook set.

It is a good idea not to set your rod down in the holder if you want to have any chance of catching up with the strike of a grouper. If you get caught up in a hole, let it rest a few moments and the grouper might just swim out of his little cave.Sometimes you will win the battle some times the grouper wins!

Now & then a few Sheepshead came around to steal that bait. When you think your getting a strike on your bait it usually already gone! When you feel the slighest nibble the Sheepshead is doing his thing so set that hook! It has been my observation that cirlce hooks will work if they are some enough. That's it for today, Boat safe and fish hard! Iam Captain Sal from St. Lucie Sportfishing Charters.
