I have been busy the past several days. We fished four days and had consistent action from start to finish. The best action around have come form the kingfish. The kings have been biting well from 200' into the 140' range.

Not only has the action been good the kings are on the larger size with several fish in the 25# range. Catching your limit of kings has not been very difficult. We caught the majority of our fish on herring. Due to the summertime heat you want to fish you baits deep. A bait dangled 60-70' below the boat should have the reel screaming for mercy in no time flat.

The mahi fishing continues on its summertime pattern with plenty of fish being caught. Sometimes you have to pick thru several smaller fish to find some of the larger keep fish but they are there. You may have to run 12-15 miles offshore to find them but they have been there.

There has been plenty of bait on the beach with massive schools of herring dimpling the surface giving away there location. We slow trolled some herring around these schools and were rewarded with a 15# jack cravel.

I have also been hitting some of the wrecks and catching good sized amberjacks, scamp, and grey groupers. These fish have been coming on the deeper wrecks in about 200' of water.

I fished with Wayne Burns and Jorge Fernandez last week and put together a nice day by keeping our options open and giving us what the day provided. We started out mahi fishing and after catching several keeper mahi we moved onto some wreck fishing. There we landed 3 amberjack the largest was in the 30# range. We also added a scamp grouper and 2 bonitos to round out or day.

If this types of fishing sounds interesting to you give me a call and let's put something together.

Until Then

Best of Luck…
