Lauderdale Fishing with Top Shot Sportfishing Charter Boat and Capt. Zsak

Eric Woodke, Craig Brown and Kyle & Chris Krzewina were down from Wisconsin on a working vacation when they decided to charter the Top Shot Sportfishing charter boat team to do some deep-sea charter boat sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, FL.  Erik and his friends were looking for eatable fish to have a fish fry and also some fish to take back to Green Bay, Wisconsin, so our objective was targeting eating fish.

We headed out the inlet and started trolling by the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale, 1.8 miles from shore at 120 ft. of water.  If you venture off another quarter of a mile, you would find yourself in 500 ft. of water due to our extreme drop off.

We put out two #8 plainers – one with a blue and pink sea witch in front of a Bonito strip and for the long plainer rod, we put out a 3 ½ blue reflector drone spoon.  For surface baits we went with two Ballyhoos and two Bonito strips.  I trolled from one artificial wreck to the other, which consists of barges, sailboats, oil rigs, freighters, etc., ranging in 80 ft. of water out to 540 ft. – we have approximately 34 artificial wrecks in Fort Lauderdale.

As the action started, all the anglers took turns bringing in their catches, as well as taking pictures and recording their angling and fishing abilities, while the cheering on and razing occurred.  We would up with a total of 13 Bonitos, four Black Fin Tunas, one Skip Jack Tuna and two Kingfish.  Plenty of fish for the grill tonight and to take back home to Green Bay, Wisconsin.

It was time to get back to the dock.  The anglers retired into the a/c salon and enjoyed the relaxing trip back to the dock at Bahia Bar Yachting Center, 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316.  At the dock, David, our mate, fillet out the fish for the anglers.
