Even with mother nature seemingly throwing everything she has at us this last couple weeks of October Smokin Em Charters has been making it to the offshore fishing grounds and finding all the fish you could want. Blackfin Tuna have been the main species that has readily taken baits and often causing total chaos in the cockpit with 3-6 lines going off at once. Even though most of these fish are now 5-10 pounds they are fantastic fighters and great table fare. C&H Bubblejet lures has produced the best with Tuna Feathers coming in a close second. The brighter the color the more fish the lure will produce, just remember that Blackfin are flighty so fish the lures well out behind the boat. Wahoo are feeding on the smaller Tuna and catching a small Blackfin or Bonito and then bridling it and putting it down deep has produced very well as of late. This past week we had 3 Wahoo in one trip using such method dropped down on a downrigger with a bridled Bonito set up on a double hook rig. Dolphin are also being caught in the same area and some of these fish are rather decent size. Most fish are in the 10-20 pound range however there are a few in the mid 30's being caught for those trolling ballyhoo. The Sailfish bite this past week was not as good as we had hoped for the conditions, however we did manage 1 release. King Mackerel are hitting on the Inshore areas such as the SE Bar and even closer to shore. Live blue runners, mullet or just about anything that a Kingfish can get in his mouth will work.

Smokin Em Charters is preparing to fish the Finest Kind Quickie the beginning week of DEC. We also have plenty of openings for those looking to fish either Offshore or Inshore. Check us out on the web at www.florida-fishingcharters.com or call Capt. Gil to book your trip.
