David was back aboard today with Matt from N.Y. for some laid back fishing in Biscayne Bay. While there were no trout to be found, we did catch mackerel, snappers and a big surprise for Matt at the end of our trip. With 20 minutes left before heading in one of the rods doubles over and the drag sings non-stop for a full minute! With the fish somewhat under control and Matt gaining some line the tug of war began and soon after I put the net under a healthy bonefish. Matt got his first bonefish, enjoyed the sleigh ride that is a bones' initial run and released the fish the moment we had to start heading in. What a way to end the day!
