Venice La Swordfishing At night by Neil Gryder (6/20/2006)
[Venice,LA] I knew that the northen gulf had swordfish since a few other captains have caught them up here. And I finaly had the crew to give them a shot. So I studied the charts and pulled my swordfish gear out of the closet to give them a shot.
Venice Offshore Riplines Heating Up by Damon McKnight (6/11/2006)
[Venice,LA] What a week this has been. The weather moving into the gulf has finally slowed us down, although I think this morning would have been a good one.
Venice Offshore Fishing Report by Damon McKnight (6/03/2006)
[Venice,LA] Another up and down week of offshore fishing. The weather has been absolutely beautiful with the exception of Wed. It was a little windy but not that bad. On Wed. we had the Parker gang from North Louisiana. Snapper were the targeted species.
Venice La Deep Jigging At The Rigs by Neil Gryder (6/01/2006)
[Venice,LA] 2 days of jigging with Capt Mike Ellis of Relentless Sportsfishing out of Venice, LA. I had the pleasure to fish with Felix Locicero, Frank Moncrief, Eugene Pacowski from the East Coast and Andrew Fernandez from California.
Slowly but Surely by Damon McKnight (5/29/2006)
[Venice,LA] This past week was a long one. The weather has been as good as it gets but the fishing has mostly been a guessing game as far as blue water fishing goes. On Wed. we had Ted Thrasher and friends.
Venice Sport Fishing by Larry Averitt (5/23/2006)
[Venice,LA] Got a chance to come home for a day and took it. Haven't been putting up any reports because Brent and I haven't replaced the computer at the camp in Venice as of yet (no phone line in the house either). But the fishing has been excellent.
Offshore Tunas! by Damon McKnight (5/09/2006)
[Venice,LA] The offshore fishing has been about average for us lately. The yellowfin tuna are out there but they have been somewhat finicky and a lot stronger than usual. Yesterday we fought a 97lb. yellowfin for 1.5 hours and went through 6 six anglers twice.
Venice LA Yellowfin Tuna Report by Damon McKnight (5/01/2006)
[Venice,LA] At about 10:00 a.m. the wind started to lay and we headed offshore to see if we could find a few Tuna. We fished for about two hours without a bite and then it happened. Out of nowhere they were crashing and busting flying fish all around the boat and we had our first tuna of the day on.
The Long Road After Hurricane Katrina by Damon McKnight (3/06/2006)
[Venice,LA] We have not posted a report since August 15th, 2005. Katrina hit the coast of Louisiana approximately 30-35 miles North of Venice, La on August 29th, 2006, which is where our fishing charter business was and now is again. We actually started back in early December but we still had little access to internet service. Things are improving everyday.
