[Sarasota] Anglers fishing with me on my Action Craft flats skiff the Snook Fin-Addict, out of CB's Saltwater Outfitters on Siesta Key, caught and released snook, trout and redfish in Gasparilla Sound and trout, bluefish and ladyfish in Sarasota Bay on CAL jigs with shad tails and flies during the past couple of weeks. Cold air and water, wind and rain were an issue, causing the cancellation of a few trips. Flats close to passes were most productive due to slightly warmer, more stable water temperatures.

[Hernando County] Inshore fishing action is great right now, in the back country waters the red fish are holding around creeks, and back bays with muddy and rocky bottom. The mud and rocks will hold heat so the fish love to sit in these areas in the winter months.

[Bonita Beach] Fishing offshore for red grouper has been great during their closed season, when we have had to release them...let's hope that bite continues now that season is open! And winter sheepshead and nice trout have dominated backwater catches recently.

[Shell Beach] Great fall fishing at the Beach. It has been a while since I posted any reports, but that does not mean I have not been fishing or the fish have not been biting. It has been a fantastic fall so far and does not look to stop anytime soon. Most days we have been limiting out on Trout along with a variety of other fish stuffing the ice chest to the top.
