This past weekend was the Islamorada Swordfish Tournament. This swordfish tournament is not like most of the swordfish tournaments where biggest fish wins, but is more like a BBC where releases count as well as weighed fish.

Variety Of Fishing Biting Off Miami by Dean Panos (7/24/2006)
Since my last report, I was on vacation for a week, back to the Bahamas a few times, and fished Miami for a few days. Also since my last report, it seems we have been inundated with lots of rain. Along with the rain come thunderstorms and lightning which unfortunately has cancelled a lot of our swordfish trips.

Summertime Reef and Night Tarpon Fishing by Dave Kostyo (7/11/2006)
We are definitely in our summer pattern. That equates to mainly bonito, kingfish, and barracuda on the reef during the day. There will be a few sailfish and blackfin tuna caught but not on every trip.
Bahamas Bound and Local Bites! by Dave Trafton (7/07/2006)
Wow, I can't tell you how incredible the response has been to my blackfin tuna guide. I basically came up with ten steps to help target them specifically in Miami and you all loved it. Some of you have had success (Way to go Mike, Richard, and Jonny!), while some of you have not been able to put my tactics to work yet, or if you have you didn't tell me how you did.
Tuna and Dolphin In The Bahamas by Dean Panos (6/26/2006)
My long trip from the Bahamas is over. We had a great time and caught lots of fish with some of my best customers. I spent a little less than two and a half weeks in the Bahamas and targeted yellowfin tuna, big dolphin, trolled for blue marlin and also did a little bit of bottom fishing. For the tunas, we caught plenty of yellowfins from 30 to 70 pounds and a few blackfins.
Miami Tarpon Fishing Is Still Great by Dave Kostyo (6/26/2006)
There continues to be lots of very small dolphin all over the ocean whether you are 15 miles out or fishing in 150 feet. The best bet for finding decent size dolphin has been to fish inside of 250 feet.
Summertime Rod Benders by Gil Gutierrez (6/24/2006)
Well it's officially hot here so that means a changing of the guard in the waters off Miami. Let's start with the offshore scene. We have been getting good numbers of decent size kingfish. In just my last couple charters we were able to catch several kingfish

Summertime Mahi Mahi by Gil Gutierrez (5/29/2006)
It's that time of year again and the dolphins are everywhere. Just about the only way that you couldn't catch one was to stay on the dock. We had a couple trips this week and cashed in on everyone.

We anchored on a county wreck in 45 feet of water and caught fish by the dozens on fly and spinning rods rigged with jigs or live bait.
