[Hopedale] High winds and cold temps did not matter to this crew. Allen Daniels and crew braved some super gusty winds the other day to catch a good box of trout. Met Allen at the dock with super windy and possible rain discussed the option of rescheduling NO WAY these guys were ready to brave the weather and fish, ALL RIGHT WE ARE ON!

South Indian River Fishing Report by Charlie Conner (2006-11-09 18:12:38)
[Port St. Lucie] The winds might blow, but the fishing is great....The trout bite was good right before this last front moved through and it should pick right back up as the water clears up. I was out today and it wasn't as dirty as expected. Lots of fish are still hanging around on the flats at Round Island and down by the Power Plant. Top water, live shrimp and soft baits should muster up a hit. Just remember that trout season is closed and you can take a photo and release them for now.
Banana River, Merrit Island Fishing Report by Ron Presley (2006-11-09 17:45:01)
[Cocoa Beach] Cool weather may call for latter start. The morning temps were under 70 and the bite did not start the the temp rose above 70.
Fishing Will Pick Up When Winds Calms Down by Joe Ward (2006-11-08 17:47:37)
[Fort Pierce] Wind blowing -- not much fishing. Fishing will pick up when the wind lays down. The inshore fishing this week has been tough to say the least. The strong winds have kept most anglers at home. But, as the wind lays down look for the water to start clearing up and for lots of action from the snook. The best places will be around the local bridges and in the Ft. Pierce Inlet. The croakers, sheepshead and weakfish will be in the deeper holes of the Intercoastal. But for now the only reports are that there is plenty of jacks in the Ft. Pierce Inlet.

Eastern Sierra Trout Season Fishing by Tom Loe (2006-11-06 09:54:46)
[Eastern Sierra] The East Walker River and Bridgeport Reservoir are arguable the candidates for the most improved fisheries in this area. Combined with plentiful water and a successful, aggressive trout enhancement program initiated by local businessman and concerned fisherman these fisheries took center stage for the first time in many years.
Jacksonville Area Inshore Waters Fishing by Bob Cosby (2006-11-06 08:07:49)
[Jacksonville] November report for Jacksonville area inshore waters. If you want a bull red, try half a blue crab fished deep along the edges of the river channel. Use 30-40lb class tackle to subdue the fish quickly for a healthy release. There are also schools of slot reds both at the jetties and in the ICW creeks.
Blown Away! High Winds Didnt Stop Us With The Trout by Gene Dugas (2006-11-04 11:18:01)
[Hopedale] High winds and cold temps could not stop these veterans from catching a box full of trout. Dennis, Eddie, and Richard were aboard my boat along 2 tag along boats today. These guys fish with me every fall and know the area but had not been out since the storm. We headed out into 20 mph NE winds BLOWING to say the least. Found some birds diving and got on some trout but not a whole lot real slow.

Where has this year gone already? Fall will bring cooler weather and many more fronts that will move across the Treasure Coast. Windy weather will become the norm throughout the winter on many days.
Inshore Wrightsville Beach Flounder, Reds, Trout Fishing by Rick Bennett (2006-11-02 11:55:14)
[Wrightsville Beach] Fall fishing is hot. Everything is biting. Just like they do every year, big schools of red drum are patrolling the beaches. You can catch them with just about any bait, artificial or natural. Gray trout and some flounder are on the inshore artificial and natural reefs. Bluefish are biting around the inlets, particularly on high tide.
High Winds and Sloppy Seas by Joe Ward (2006-11-01 19:02:48)
[Fort Pierce] Due to the wind conditions the fishing has been slow. The ocean has been sloppy with only a few big boats trying with only a few fish to report. The handful of dolphin that were caught came from 160 to 180 feet of water and were caught on naked ballyhoo. A few kings were reported in 60 to 90 feet of water and they were taking a live blue runner.

Afternoon Trout Fishing by Gene Dugas (2006-10-31 15:10:02)
[Hopedale] With bad weather forecasted for the morning we decided to make ago in the afternoon. First stop picked up a few but not the bite I wanted. Moved around getting a few more. The East wind was strong and stopped the falling tide. The tide started to come I and that was the change we needed. Found the trout just off the ledge in 4 ft of water just out the current line. DOA and Bayside Shrimp along with the live stuff were doing the job.

[Sarasota] Anglers fishing with me on the Snook Fin-Addict, out of CB's Saltwater Outfitters on Siesta Key, had good action with reds, snook, trout and tarpon during the past couple of weeks. The best action was with reds caught on a fly in Charlotte Harbor. We also had a bonus of large late season tarpon, also on a fly.
Tailing Reds-It's Sight Fishing Time by David Rogers (2006-10-28 13:07:08)
[Mosquito Lagoon] Now is the time to sight fish in the Mosquito Lagoon. It is an awesome way to fish. If you enjoy casting to tailing redfish now is time to go fishing. I love fishing in very shallow water and the challenge of casting to fish in less than 12 inches of water.
The Redfish Are Schooling In East Central Florida by Chris Myers (2006-10-28 09:32:46)
[Titusville] The water temperature dropped but the fishing became red hot. The redfish are schooling! The first significant cold front of the season arrived this week dropping water temperatures in the Mosquito Lagoon into the lower 60's. The change has signaled the redfish to begin schooling and sent the big trout into the shallows

[Skagit River] Seeing alot of Chum salmon in the lower sections as well as a few Coho. South Indian River Fishing Report by Charlie Conner (2006-10-26 18:04:06)
[Port St. Lucie] Trout and redfish biting along the Treasure Coast....Fishing was good for the most part if you could brave some of the windy weather during the week. Last weekend was great weather to be out on the water. Richy Freitas (with a little help from dad) boated a nice 22" trout and 26" redfish this week. Joe Senneville got himself a 26" redfish also this week along with an 18" trout. Look for the reds to be hanging around on the flats or cruising among the mullet or jack packs around the river. We have had our luck on soft baits (shrimp tails) or twitch baits.

Mullet Run Is In Full Swing East Central Florida by Chris Myers (2006-10-21 19:42:13)
[Titusville] The mullet run is in full swing both in the Lagoons and along the beach. On the inside, redfish, trout, and ladyfish are gorging themselves on finger mullet. The key has been finding the small mullet. Find these, and there will be fish nearby. Topwater plugs and DOA Baitbusters have been bringing fish to the boat.
Two days of Fun on the Beach by Rory Rorison (2006-10-19 18:46:47)
[Shell Beach] We sent this crew from Texas home with a truck load of fish fillets. Two days of fun on the Beach. We had a fun group of guys from Texas that comes to Fish With The King every year. On Wednesday's trip I had Randy, Jay, Jeff, and Greg on board. The wind was flat and the fog thick as we left Campo's armed with some of the prettiest shrimp to be found, each and every one of them guarantied to catch fish or die trying.

[Port St. Lucie] Trout hitting on the flats of the Indian River....The weather has cooperated most of the week, providing anglers with ample opportunities to get out fishing both the river and the ocean. Looks like warm weather will be here for now and looks like the weekend should be good for fishing! Reports around the river has been mixed this week, but there are plenty of fish being caught.

Cooler Temperatures Turned On The Trout Bite by Charlie Conner (2006-10-12 18:03:40)
[Port St. Lucie] Ahhhh....fall weather has arrived. Mild mornings make it a fantastic way to spend a day on the water. The weather has cooperated very nicely this week and helped make the day very enjoyable on the water. We should continue with this great weather this next week! Expect the winds to arrive at any time during the day, but for now they have been just enough to take the edge off the heat of the day.

Snook Bite Is Getting Better Ft Pierce Inshore by Joe Ward (2006-10-11 09:59:54)
[Fort Pierce] Snook bite is betting better, dolphin and kingfish bite still going strong. The inshore fishing has improved some this week for the anglers looking for snook. It is still not a red hot bite but the reports from the local bridges and in the Turning Basin are improving. The best catches are coming form the late night tide change and a live bait like a croaker, pinfish, mullet or a select shrimp have produced the most fish.
Got Em Again by Gene Dugas (2006-10-10 15:45:26)
[Hopedale] Finally turned that corner and got on the fish. Bernie, Charlie, Joe and Cory were my guest today. I headed toward the outside to work the edges of Black bay to try for the bigger trout today. After few hours with only 17 in the box I turned back toward the marsh it was 9:30 and I was a little worried I may not find good bite this late.
Penobscot River Maine Fly Fishing by Kevin Mckay (2006-10-09 13:02:33)
[Penobscot River] As I stood in the shower,I thought of the money I would miss out on if I didn't work on Columbus day, double time and a half. I also thought of time I would miss out on with my boys,if I didn't take this free day off. I took the day off minutes before I was going to leave.
Inshore and Nearshore Fishing Report by Bob Cosby (2006-10-09 07:34:49)
[Jacksonville] Mullet run madness stimulates hot bite along the coast and in area inlets. The bull reds are staging way up the St Johns River near Dames Point and Blount Island. Normally, they would be out on the sand flats north and south of the jetty tips by this time.

Both boats headed to a protected area and found the birds diving and shrimp jumping and we all know what that means, Trout jumping in the boat. Got some in the box before moving on.

Good Dolphin Bite Ft Pierce Offshore by Joe Ward (2006-10-05 17:04:12)
[Fort Pierce] With the wind picking up it has made the water inshore dirty and rough offshore. The inshore fishing has been up and down this week as the wind has just kept blowing and has made the water cloudy again. Some anglers are finding a few keeper size snook around the bridges in Ft. Pierce as well as a few in the Ft. Pierce Inlet. Live baits like pinfish, croakers and mullet have been working the best.
