Barry Brown

[Pascagoula River] The juvenile pogies are a good size now and we will be fishing with them through October. Pogies (menhaden) are an oily herring-like fish that have flashy silver sides. The oil produces a great scent to attract the reds and specks, and their flash can be easily seen by the predator fish.

Tampa Bay Fishing Hot Summer by

[Tampa] Ninety-degree weather and summertime humidity are part of July fishing. This means extra precautions when it comes to heat exhaustion. Keep yourself hydrated with plenty of fluids. Heat exhaustion grabs you when least expected and is sometimes fatal if not treated immediately.

Good Fishing For Rainbows In Montana by
Jeremy Giberston
(2006-07-03 11:00:10)
[Yellowstone River] Water temps getting in mid to upper 40's, and the Rainbow spawn is basically over, so it's a good time to be fishing. I'm always looking forward to when the fish begin to move into their summer water, then it seems you can catch them all over the river (even more), and the small, shallow riffles begin to hold more fish.

[Pascagoula River] We're still catching a lot of reds on live bait, and the best news is that the juvenile pogies are now large enough to get their attention. Within the past few days I have started using some pogies along with my usual cocahoe minnows with a lot of success.

[Pascagoula River] Over the past two weeks we have consistently caught some nice trout on top water lures in the early morning and just before sunset. The trout are out on the oyster reefs and in several of my favorite spots up river. These have been some very nice-sized trout in the two to four pound range.

[Flamingo] First, I'd like to make it known that this was a top shelf tournament. Capt. I certainly wasn't expecting such a high quality tourney... needless to say, I was completely impressed.
