    Good numbers on Chinook Fishing Lake Michigan by Jim Hirt (2007-10-10 07:57:31)
    [Milwaukee] Good numbers on Chinook, Browns and Lake Trout with an occasional Coho. The wind has kept the water cold near shore. The surface is 46 degrees with a break to 43 at 15 feet down. The fish have been high in the water column.

    [Shell Beach] It was constant action. When the shrimp started to get low we put on the Bayou Chubs and the Trout ate them up them. The guys had a fantastic time loading up the boat with limits of Trout on a pretty day. Total for the day was 125 Trout, 10 Drum, 9 Sheepshead, and 2 Flounder.

    [Cape Fear River] Greetings all!!!The inshore Redfish bite continues to be fantastic!! There are a lot of big Redfish scouring the creeks and flats foraging on the abundant bait fish that is in the water now.

    [Sarasota] Anglers fishing with me on the Snook Fin-Addict, out of CB's Saltwater Outfitters on Siesta Key, caught and released trout, bluefish, redfish, snook, Spanish mackerel and little tunny during the past couple of weeks. The best action has been on the flats for trout and in the coastal gulf for Spanish mackerel and little tunny.

Redfish, Speckled Trout and Flounder are the big draws in the inshore waters, while King and Spanish Mackerel, Mahi, Gray Trout and False Albacore are the big draws in the offshore waters. Wahoo are going off in the stream.

    [Shell Beach] It was almost as much fun just watching the shrimp jump with Trout jumping up for them and gulls attacking from above, as it was catching them. Once again lots of 15” Reds mixed with the Trout and several 24”-30” Reds. We even had one that tried to eat a small Trout being reeled in. Total catch for the day was 75 Trout, 5 Reds, 5 Drum, 1 Sheepshead, and a great time on the water.

    [Shell Beach] The Trout were nailing the bait as soon as it hit the water, or shortly after as the bait fell. Lots of those 15” Rat Reds on the bottom too and there were some nice Reds 20”-26”mixed in to make the Okuma reels sing. Lots of action, one pretty box of fish, and lots of fun had by all. Total catch 125 Trout, 6 Reds, 4 Drum.

    [Boca Grande] Anglers fishing with me on the Snook Fin-Addict, out of CB's Saltwater Outfitters on Siesta Key, had good action with reds during the past week. Large reds are schooling in Gasparilla Sound where anglers connected with MirrOlure Top Dog, Jrs, CAL shad tails, jerk worms and my Flats Minnow fly. In addition, trout and snook were also caught and released.

    [Shell Beach] Fishing the wind blown shorelines with live shrimp under a cork up against the grass the guys had a great time catching Reds, Drum, Trout and Heads. The guys had a great time filling the box to the top with some pretty fish, and can't wait to get back down and go again. Total catch for the day was 15 Reds, 23 Trout, 4 Drum, 12 Sheepshead, and 2 Flounder.
