Steelhead fishing was a little tougher this weekend. After doing well all week we struggled some on the weekend. The brown trout were keeping us busy but the steelheads were a bit elusive.

The fishing pressure continues to be high as everyone is getting cabin fever. Mornings have been cold, but it hasn’t stop anglers from hitting the water. The upper section of the river between Altmar and Pineville is producing the most action.

The fishing today started with cold air temps and water temp. But the fishing was RED HOT. Tough way too start the day but improved quickly with the excaellent fishing had today.

Steelhead fishing continues to be very good on the river from top to bottom.The water is going down and fresh steelhead have entered the river. The upper end continues to be the best area to spend your time.

Water temps have stabilized and actually climbed back into the mid 40's. The bite is on and we have been smoking the fish.

Salmon Season 2008- Weekend #1 under the belt!
The fishing pressure on the salmon river increased over the weekend but things remained the same with only a small amount of fresh fish moving through the lower end of the river.

We really need a break with this weather, it is plain old cold!! We hit the water today with the temp below zero and reached a balmy high of 8 above at 2:00.
