[Sarasota] Several trips during the week of August 27th produced trout, bluefish, jacks and ladyfish on deep grass flats of Sarasota Bay at Stephens Point and along the west side of the bay from Bishops Point to Buttonwood Harbor caught with DOA Deadly Combos, CAL jigs and Clouser flies. We also jumped a 20-pound tarpon with a root beer DOA TerrorEyz fishing canals in Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda.

[Mosquito Lagoon] Tarpon are a rollin and can be caught with the right presentation. Tail hook yourself a live shrimp and watch for backs and fins.

[Mosquito Lagoon] Big reds seem to be what every other angler wants to target these days. These bronze aqua goddesses play hard to get after being pushed here and there. Set up is the key to hook up.

[Shell Beach] Time was running out and we had to leave those fish biting, but with non stop action all day long either from the trash fish or good fish the gang has a blast. Total catch in the box was 48 Trout (logs), 1 Red, 1 Pompano, 2 Drum, and 3 Spanish.

[Shell Beach] At our last stop we got on a real good bite and the fish box was filling fast. With the heat coming on and sore arms they had enough and cried uncle. Good thing because with the size of these fish I don't know were we were going to put any more. I had to stand on top of the fish box to close it. They had a great time and it was a pleasure to spend the day with them. Total catch for the day was 88 Trout (2-4 pounds), 5 Reds, 2 Pompano, 3 Spanish, and 1 Sheepshead.

[Stuart] Summer time patterns prevail with the early morning and late evening hours producing the most strikes. The west bank of the Indian River has been producing a steady bite of trout, inlets filled with catch and release snook, and the St.Lucie River still the best location for a tarpon release.
