The one problem has been that the fish were either over the slot or under the slot. I only got a few reports of keepers. A Red Tail Hawk has been hard to beat this week with pinfish and select shrimp a close second.

Big Snook In The Turning Basin by Joe Ward (2007-02-15 20:50:39)

I guess it's a little better than sub-zero like they are having up north. It's no wonder the birds migrate south for the winter and I have to say I have been seeing a lot of ducks out on the water lately, enjoying the Florida sun.

[Lake Ontario] I know it's been awhile since I posted a report but with over 100 inches of snow on the ground there isn't a lot to talk about. I spend about all my time shoveling and snow blowing just waiting for the front end loader to show up and push it all back. Here is what our yard looks like.

[Miami] The tarpon are mean, nasty, and stubborn. We've turned the calendar page from January to February. With that turn, tarpon inshore and sailfish offshore are your best bet. That's a hard combination to beat. With that being said, lets get to the individual day reports.
Snook season opens on the Treasure Coast! by Charlie Conner (2007-02-04 17:15:08)
[Port St. Lucie] Snook season opened this week on the Treasure Coast. Some anglers enjoyed catching their first slots of the season, while others were still out there at daylight in search of theirs. I only spotted about six boats around the inlet at 6 am on Thursday morning. Others showed up around the area as the tide peaked on the river. Most anglers were targeting the seawalls, docks and bridges on the first day of snook season.

With the water in the low 60's, the fishing has exploded. Redfish are in good number on the flats ranging from 25 to 35 inches. The best time to fish in on the extreme low tides.

[Bear Lake] Well we are just about at the peak of the Cisco Run. Plan on them running for at least another couple of weeks but if you plan on dip netting them I would be here for the weekend. Even though they will continue running the numbers won't be as great. Your best bet for catching them would be the weekend.
