Lets do a quick report on what's been happening for the past several trips. Action in the 110 - 160 foot range has been very good for a variety of species. They include kingfish, bonito, amberjack, mutton snapper, barracuda, and the pesky triggerfish.

I have been having a lot of fun in July, and I hope you have as well. Would you believe I had to wear a jacket to fend off the cold air on 4 fishing trips this month. One day I needed a sweat shirt and a jacket till after 10 in the morning.

July ended pretty well for us. We had a trip to Bimini for three days as well as three nights of swordfish and a few day trips here. That kept me fairly busy and the fishing was decent.

The summer heat is upon us and it seems like it\'s getting hotter each day. During the day there are dolphin to be caught if you are willing to put in the time and do the running to find them. In on the reef, the kingfish are being found out in deeper water and deep in the water column. There are some bonito being found and also the occasional blackfin tuna.

I have been pretty lucky this past week and have fished a few nights as well as a few days. The daytime fishing has been decent for us with dolphin offshore. One day we had a combo trip starting at 2:00pm and ending at 2:00am. We were targeting dolphin in the Gulfstream and swordfish at night.

We are definitely in our summer mode of fishing. It requires lots of work to put together a decent catch. Also, the afternoon thunder boomers and potential for waterspouts require a watchful eye.

June went out with a blast as Don and Sandy did a little afternoon angling. They had ask about wahoo on their last trip, so we started out trolling plugs at 8 knots along a sharp edge. It took 15 minutes for Sandy to hook up with her first wahoo. This frisky 17 pound speedster got the day off to a great start.

I'm back from the Bahamas! The tuna fishing this year was not very good and that was disappointing since that is the reason we go to Andros this time of year. The tuna bite was late this year and will probably take off next month. The good news is that there were plenty of big dolphin around.
