[Savannah] During these hot times you really do need to take twice as much bait as you would normally....because there are lot of desireable fish out ther. However to get to those you have to get passed the "fetish fish!" (Proffesional removers of the leggs, tail, and any other small bait parts!)

[Sarasota] Anglers fishing with me the past couple of weeks continued to have action with tarpon in the coastal gulf along Sarasota beaches. Tarpon schools have thinned and aren't showing well on the surface, so the best technique to catch them in deep water (15'-20') has been drifting live crabs under a float. We're also still getting shots at tarpon in shallow water with flies, which is one of my favorite things to do.

[Shell Beach] The guys put their limits in the boat and when they stopped to eat some lunch I picked up a rod and put a few in the boat for me. The wind laid down as the morning went on, so with an over stuffed fish box and flat seas we headed to the house. Total catch was 135 Trout, 2 Drum, and 1 Pompano.

[Shell Beach] We finally did get away from them and got on a good Trout bite and the guys caught their limits just in time so we could head on in and beat the rain. Total catch was 50 Trout (1-3 pounds), 2 Sheepshead, and lots of big Reds in the 30 pound class released.

[Shell Beach] I had the pleasure of fishing with Jim and his daughter Lauren. Jim fished with me last year and wanted to put Lauren on some Trout and Reds. Since they flew into town and were not interested in keeping much if any fish to take home it was mostly catch and release. They caught a whole lot of fish over the two days and had a great time.

[Cocoa Beach] Summer is here. You can almost set your watch by the afternoon thunderstorms and the tarpon are in good numbers in the rivers. The schools of redfish have broken up into smaller schools and the bulls are on their way north. The snook fishing has improve in the early morning and the trout are on the drop-offs. For Cocoa Beach this all means that it's summer slam time.
