[Lake Fork,TX] Fishing Lake Fork After a major cold front. Fishing shallow and deep. Well, the week started out gang busters. We had 42 on Tuesday and I thought the fishing report for the end of the month was on track. It read that the last two weeks of November would be a banner two weeks. Well, Wrong!!!This week was a tough one for me. After all the fish on Tuesday and then the bottom fell out.

[Lower Luguna Madre,TX] Due to a strong frontal passage on Sunday morning, I was forced to cancel my charter for the day. Monday's forecast promised to be a little better. The wind did die down to about 15-20 out of the North. My clients, Scott and his son John, from around the Houston area, were ready to get out on the water. They had what you call cabin fever after having planned on two days of fishing and forced to cancel one.

[Lake Fairfield,TX] Fishing was great. Lake fairfield stays at a 63 degree temperture all winter long and Bass are active even in the cold fronts of winter along with this great action there are redfish stocked in this Lake and they hit Bass lures.

[Sabine Lake,TX] We have been catching lots of trout with a few redfish under the birds when the wind allows. The best baits have been Tidal Surge Split Tails in Glow chartreuse and American Midnight on ¼ once heads. The birds don't want to hold on the fish long so watch for the shrimp when you come up on a flock of gulls working. Hoginars have been by far the best bait for reds will fishing the birds.

[Lake Fork,TX] Fishing Jigs and weightless baits in shallow and deep water. The fishing has really been unstable. Patterns have changed quickly. The weather has done the same. We still have not had rain enough to do any good for the lake. The lake is still falling and is about 5‘.5 low. This time of year with all the fronts coming down the patterns will change daily or during the day.

[Lower Luguna Madre,TX] This past Monday was a great guiding day for me. I had a client that was different from any other client I've ever fished. His name was Doug Brady. He was born and raised in Oregon and he still lives there but only 6 months out of the year. The other 6 months, December through May, he lives in Belize, Central America. He was a very experienced flats fly fisherman, but had never before fished for redfish.

[Lake Sam Rayburn,TX] Wow what a day. Bass were gorging their selves on shad in the backs of coves in 2-5 feet of water and tearing up the Nichols shad patterns spinnerbaits. Caught up to 80 Bass before the cold front hit due to the ending warming trend we had from Wednesday to Friday.

[Toldeo Bend,TX] The fishing has really picked up with the cooling water temperature. The Crappie fishing has been improving everyday. Usually by this time, the Crappie are stacked up and we're loading up the boat but we've had such warm weather and such a large influx of freshwater, the Crappie are still scattered for what it should be for this time of the year.

With the cooler water temps the bass are just now beginning their fall feeding frenzy and can be caught on a variety of lures from topwaters to Texas rigged worms. The bass bite has gotten better over the last week and will only get better over the next days and weeks to come.

[Lower Luguna Madre,TX] Last Saturday I really had a great time guiding Lindsey from Washington State, Mike from Chicago, Jason from Denver, Mark from Austin and Jerry from Harlingen. It was a fun fishing trip because all of them are such great friends. Every time they fish together they have a fishing contest between them. They have a Big Fish Trophy that they pass back and forth and Mark was the current holder of the trophy.

[Lake Fork,TX] Winter fishing on Lake Fork with spoons and tail spinners. Main lake points and humps have been good starting areas. The grass has held some fish early with top water and spinner baits. The Lake Fork Tackle Twitch worm and Zig Zag and the Wave Tiki Stick have been good fished weightless and wacky style over and around grass. The weekend calls for clear on Saturday and rain Sunday. But the way things have gone it will probably miss us again.

Saturday morning at 7:30 was a little eye tearing and face burning running out the Arroyo. It was around 55 degrees but felt a lot cooler on the water especially with the brisk north wind blowing.

The early part of the week the fishing was good and then the rain and wind came and slowed the bite for me. Thursday was back to normal and then last nite this very windy front came in and the temps went back down.

[Toldeo Bend,TX] The lake is 163.9 ft msl up almost three feet in the last week and still slowly rising, high pool is 172 ft msl. The water temperature has been running in the mid 70s but is slowly dropping with the recent cooling weather. The north end of the main lake is stained with the feeder creeks muddy.

[Lake Palestine,TX] You know as water temps.; cool in the 60's Bass go more to horizontal baits than vertical such as rattle traps, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits and such. They are fattening up for the winter and as water cools the Shad will move to channnels and creeks or rir rap and thats where you will find those bass.

[Lake Fork,TX] Fall fishing on Lake Fork with Spinner baits and wacky worms. Well, the cool fronts are coming in like they should. The only problem is they are not bringing enough rain. We received 1&3/4 inches of rain last Monday but that nothing for the lake. The lake is still 5 plus inches low. The water temp was 66 degrees this week when I was fishing. The fishing was a little tough this week.

We can't complain about rain with all the low water conditions. The long range forecast says it will be a wet winter. Great. Maybe this will get all our lakes full again. The fishing has been a little up and down with the temp swings.

Headed out into 3-4' seas not many boats out today it was rough laying down more in the afternoon, pretty windy day ended up with Mahi to 14lbs and 1 snapper,1 trigger, winds were blowing out of the east not a good fishing day.

The lake is almost 5 feet low. The low water has not hurt the fishing but has made the lake dangerous to run. The boat lanes are the best areas to run your boat. The short cuts can be very dangerous.

[Toldeo Bend,TX] Like many other anglers and boaters on the south end of The Bend, I am excited and pleased at the work currently being performed on launch site # 7 located on the west side (Texas side) of Toledo just off of highway # 255. This is a major project as the ramp is being extended thirty feet from existing ramp/concrete. In addition to the extension, the cove is also being dredged, enlarged and deepened.

[Toldeo Bend,TX] The lake is 161.9 ft msl (record low); high pool is 172 ft msl. The lake is two feet lower compared to this time last year. This equates to a 40% reduction in total water volume. The north end of the lake is stained and clearing as you go south.
