[Sarasota] Anglers fishing with me on the Snook Fin-Addict, out of CB's Saltwater Outfitters on Siesta Key, had good action with snook, tarpon and trout during the week of August 11. The best action continues to be on deep grass flats with a variety of species including trout, bluefish and mangrove snapper. We also had action fishing lighted docks for snook before dawn and large tarpon around bridges and on the flats after daylight.

[Shell Beach] The guys started hauling in Trout after Trout with live shrimp under a cork. The action was fast and fun. The Trout were so aggressive they were hitting the corks. I had one pole set up with a Top Dog and the guys took turns with it.

[Shell Beach] We headed closer in into Eloi and the water in there the clearest I have ever seen it. Fishing with live shrimp under a cork the Trout were eating up and it was a blast to be able to see them strike in the clear water.

[Homosassa] Although tropical systems are no fun I still enjoy a few rain showers from time to time. As hot as it gets in August and September a little rain shower will never hurt anything. Some of my very best fishing days have came before, after or during the rain. If you think about it fish tend to bite better with slow changes in the barometer and the rain tends to cool water temps down more often than not. This past week was a perfect example of that.
