[Sarasota] Anglers fishing with me on my flats skiff the Snook Fin-Addict, out of CB's Saltwater Outfitters on Siesta Key, had steady action during the past couple of weeks with trout and ladyfish on jigs and flies on deep grass flats of Sarasota Bay and Gasparilla Sound. Most trips averaged 15 -20 trout and a few ladyfish.

[Orlando] The flats fishing has been excellent in the Mosquito Lagoon. Redfish are tailing aggressively making great target for anglers sight fishing with both fly and light tackle.

[Pine Island Sound] The winds have still plagued our area as we are seeing 15 to 25 mile per hour winds every other day. But with the layout of the mangroves and canals we are able to duck out of the winds and still have great days out on the water. Keep in mind any of the spoil islands and land masses will always create a calm side where the winds are less substantial.

[Cocoa Beach] In the past week, trout have been hitting a wide variety of top water lures when fished along the eastern shoreline of the Indian River as well as the western shoreline of the No Motor Zone. When fishing inside the No Motor Zone, low light conditions have been very productive while wading the flats in three feet of water or less.

[Pine Island Sound] Three good things happened this week, first we said good bye to one long winter and welcomed the arrival of spring (even though it's still kinda cool). Second, Spanish mackerel showed up all around the southern side of Charlotte Harbor and third, the one that excites me the most, baitfish arrived.

[Tampa] Finally winter is over and spring is here. Now is the time to dig out those rods and reels and check out the boat, it's time for another great summer of fishing. Throughout the wintertime fishing was consistently poor with cold weather, cold water temperatures and high winds. Thankfully it's over and the fishing should pick up as our water temperatures return to normal and the bait shows up on the flats.

[Bonita Beach] The grouper bite has been pretty strong on our offshore days, but season doesn't re-open until April 1st, so we have had to release them all. Snapper, including hogfish, have been plentiful, along with sheepshead and trout.
