[Miami] South Florida recently experienced a major cold spell that adversely affected the snook, small tarpon and bonefish populations. Small jack crevalles, ladyfish, mangrove snapper, catfish and a number of other species that moved to deeper warmer water along with the snook and tarpon found themselves with nowhere to run when water temperatures continued to drop causing them to go into shock and eventually die.

Mike Ortego
(2010-01-13 21:27:35)
[Orlando] It is cold, FREEZING cold! But that doesn't stop fisherman, it just means we wear more clothe. What this extremely cold weather really means for us here in central Florida is adapting our fishing style to make our day on the water successful. Let no one tell you that this abnormally low temperature doesn't make the fishing tougher. These temperatures plummeting to below freezing over night kills a bunch of sea life.
