Since the fish haven't bit well the last three days, I had strong feeling they would feed up with overcast skies.

Over the last couple of days the bite has slowed down. With the water level slowly starting to rise, surface temps are ranging from 59-65 degrees and color is a slight stain to clear.

Guntersville Lake in Spring by
Reed Montgomery
(3/07/2007)
Just that title is refreshing. Especially since late last winter anglers fishing Guntersville Lake were struggling with nighttime lows in the 20's and mid day highs not even reaching 50 degrees. Spring on Alabama's largest Impoundment Guntersville Lake, is as good as it gets for fishing for largemouth bass in shallow, weedy waters.

Guntersville cold weather not slowing the fish down by
Tim Chandler
(1/19/2007)
Cold weather not a factor on beautiful Lake Gunterville. Today cloudy skies, light wind, and clear water made some wonderful conditions to fish Lake Guntersville. A friend of mine and I launched out of Waterfront at 9:00am and we went searching for lipless crankbait fish. On the second cast we found one and I just knew that was going to be bad luck, but it wasn't.

Bass Are Slow, Crappie Are On Fire by
Tim Chandler
(1/07/2007)
Bass fishing was slow, but the Crappie sure made up for it. This report is for last Thursday and I'm just now getting around to posting it because I have been working the Nashville Fishing & Turkey Expo. It was nice to see some old faces from the BFHP and meet some new ones. It was a wonderful show and the turnout was one of the largest I can ever remember.

Spring on Guntersville Lake by
Reed Montgomery
(4/19/2006)
Although Guntersville Lake is praised as one of the best bass lakes in the country it often baffles anglers during the spring. Many anglers come to Guntersville Lake in north Alabama, from all over the United States. They have heard all the big bass tales, they get all geared up and head to the lake in extreme anticipation, often only to be severely disappointed when the trip is over. Reason being?
