[Wisconsin River] Spent the morning chasing crappies with Chuck Hulburt and Gary Maki then trying our hand at walleye fishing during the middle of the day before returning to crappies again later in the afternoon. Gary had heard about the great trip Chuck and his wife Billy had fishing crappies with me last fall and both of them were hoping for something similar today.

[Wisconsin River] Saturdays weather report called for east winds from 12-18mph. In truth though, they should have started at 18 and gone up considerably from there. Morning temperatures ran right around 50 degrees and some light rain fell also.

[Wisconsin River] On Sunday, Dick Majcher and his daughter Pam jumped in the boat for a day of fishing. Cold overnight temperatures in the spring usually mean the fishing will be slow in the early morning hours.

[Wisconsin River] It's the last weekend of April and chances are, if you went fishing on Lake Wisconsin, you were probably chasing crappies. Catching some slabs is a great way to start out the new year.

[Miramichi River] Just when you thought they wouldn't take we had a 37 incher take. Another good day of fishing but not so good of weather for the Miramichi. But the fish still wanted what we threw at them. The weather was windy and very cold with ice pellets coming down.

[Miramichi River] With fishing season soon aproaching on April 15th/2007 and the colder weather that we are having is keeping the river ice solid for the start of the season. There are a few places that you can wet a line in the smaller rivers like the Cains and Bartholomew river. The South West Miramichi has a few spots open but only a few! The North West Miramichi is still frozen solid with very heavy looking ice.We need some warmer weather or rain to raise the river to get the ice moving.
