[Lake Kabetogama] Another week of mixed bag weather, minus 25 to plus 25 and snow with a little freezing rain. This adds up to difficult ice traveling. Anglers and spearers made paths to the previously traveled locations and found easy travel and a pretty good bite.

[Big Lake] Outstanding fihing is still happening here with bigger fish moving to hard bottom/sandy areas where patient anglers are using slow, suspended techniques to catch some big fish. Red fish are still plentiful many places on the fishery.

[Lake Kabetogama] More snow, more cold all the more reason to shift gears from watching winter to enjoying it. You can get on the ice to spear or angle, spearing is wrapping up somewhat as anglers start getting out to their walleye holes.

[Lake Kabetogama] An Abundance of cold weather and several small snowfalls have made this area a winter wonderland. Angling and spearing has contributed to small villages on the ice. At present the spearing enthusiasts out number the anglers as per usual, early in the season.

[Lake Sam Rayburn] Low water levels have bottomed out with recent rains. Fish are moving around due to higher water. Shallow patterns are what =most anglers are using....spinnerbaits,/shallow crankbaits/jigs. However, there are bass on deep patterns too.

[Big Lake] Basically, if the winds are less than 15 mph, you can catch a boat load of fish....this lake is loaded with fish. Also, at this time of the year..many area outdoorsmen will duck hunt the lake that morning and fish in the afternoon. Tough life!

[Lake Sam Rayburn] Rayburn is still kind to anglers most of the time. However, she can be a bad place to be when winds turn to the north. Numerous baits are catching bass but most action is in water less that 10 feet.

[Lake Kabetogama] Soft water anglers may find it time to put away their gear for the season. The current forecast includes some cool single digit temperatures that will surely ice up the shorelines. Anglers in the meantime should get their house in shape(fish house that is) and prepare for the winter season.

[Lake Conroe] Black bass fishing continues to be very good, crappie fishing has picked up, catfish fishing continues to be outstanding in both shallow water around the docks and in deep water on baited holes. Drift fishing has been paying big dividends for catching big blue catfish. Hybrid fishing has been fair with a few being caught mixed in with white bass schooling on points and sand bars early and late.
