[Lake Ray Roberts] 3-9-09 The crappie spawn has started at Lake Ray Roberts and will get nothing but better in the coming weeks. This afternoon I caught 31 keepers plus a few throw backs in around 4 hours. The largest was 2 lb 2oz and had many other nice size slabs.

[Lake Kabetogama] Huge temperature swings and mixed precipitation spoiled all mid-week fishing in our neck of the country. This past weekend the temperatures hovered around normal and anglers managed to get some hours in. Reports were spotty and it was overall a quiet weekend for fishing.

Big specs are starting to show up so anglers want to keep the smaller specs and turn the big sows loose to spawn. Redfish are still plentiful. [Lake Fork] Despite a week of bitter cold temps with sleet and ice, the fishing at Lake Fork has been good on most days. More big prespawn bass are showing up in the shallows all the time and 11+ lb fish are starting to come into marinas on a more regular basis.
